Prof. Shalini Bharat
Shalini Bharat is Director and Professor in the School of Health Systems Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She teaches Qualitative Research Methods, Public Health Ethics and Health Research Ethics to postgraduate and doctoral students of the Public Health, and Health and Hospital Administration teaching programs of the School. Deeply committed to improving quality of research and teaching in Indian institutions of higher education, she has been organising capacity building workshops for doctoral students and early career faculty on qualitative research methods and scientific writing, for the past several years as part of her Knowledge Network project with Population Council and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Shalini Bharat's research has been funded by major national and international funding organisations including Ministry of Health, UNAIDS, National institutes of Health USA, UNDP, World Bank, DFID, UNIFEM, Gates Foundation, Population Council, among others.
