IFRC - TISS Partnership

The International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Tata Institute for Social Sciences (TISS) have established an online Certificate Programme in Disaster Management to address the existing practice-knowledge gaps, by developing humanitarian professionals with the right blend of academic and practical approaches, to reduce vulnerabilities and risks to hazards while developing ways of building the resilience of nations and communities to disasters. The course positions the IFRC with TISS in an innovative partnership to collaborate in evolving new areas in the realm of Disaster Management. The collaboration started in 2012 with the Online Certificate Programme in Disaster Management. In this decade long journey, we have had nearly 400 working professionals from more than 90 countries in the world, enrolled in the programme.

A two years Master's programme in Disaster Management offered in the Mumbai Campus. The 2 programme includes intensive contact classes, together with supervised fieldwork and internships.

Post-graduate Diploma in Disaster Management

The one-year programme aims at enhancing knowledge, capacities and skills, and perspective on disasters. The one-year programme consists of contact classes in the Mumbai campus with supervised fieldwork.
